To prolong the life of olive wood, it is important to care for it regularly. First, olive wood should be washed by hand and dried thoroughly. Avoid soaking olive wood in water for long periods of time, as this can damage the wood. To protect olive wood from drying out and cracking, it is recommended to treat it regularly with oil. Use olive oil, sunflower oil or mineral oil. Apply the oil thinly over the entire surface of the wood and remove excess oil with a cloth.
Since the manual processing is focused on the natural olive wood, it creates together with the beautiful grain very attractive individual pieces.
Every single piece is therefore unique.
No, olive wood is not suitable for use in the dishwasher. The wood can be damaged by the hot steam and strong detergents.
Olive wood is considered an environmentally friendly material because it is a renewable resource and the production of olive wood products has a lower environmental impact compared to other types of wood. Olive wood products are also biodegradable and can be easily disposed of at the end of their life.
Like our sustainable raw material olive wood, our packaging is of course also environmentally friendly and 100% plastic-free.
