FAQ's

Olivenholz ist aufgrund seines langsamen Wachstums ein sehr hartes, dichtes Holz und ca. 60 %
härter als Eichenholz.

Olivenholz hat einen ganz besonderen aber minimalen Eigengeruch. Es riecht ein wenig süßlich mit
einem Hauch Olivenölduft. Der von Natur aus relativ hohe Ölgehalt im Holz vermeidet, dass sich
Gerüche im Holz absetzen.

Olivenholz ist ausgesprochen feuchtigkeitsresistent, so dass es nicht rau oder spröde wird. Es fühlt
sich immer glatt an.

Da sich die Verarbeitung per Hand sehr nach dem gewachsenen Olivenholz orientiert, entstehen
individuelle Formen, die zusammen mit der wunderschönen Maserung optisch sehr ansprechende
Einzelstücke ergeben. Jedes einzelne Teil ist somit ein Unikat.

Das Holz des Olivenbaums ist äußerst schnittfest und resistent gegen Säuren, Fette oder Bakterien
und nimmt keine Gerüche an. Eigengeschmack und Aromen bleiben den Nahrungsmitteln erhalten.
Zudem schont das harte Holz Ihre Messerklingen und hinterlässt sehr geringe Schneidespuren.
Hohe Temperaturschwankungen können dazu führen, dass das Holz arbeitet und rissig wird.
